Using Geometric Objects

In Advance Design, geometric objects can be used as help entities in modeling the structure (for functions such as snap, extrude, trim or extend, subdivide, create openings) and to define the mesh configuration on structure elements.

How to use points to define the mesh on structure elements

Points can be used to refine the meshing on structure elements for the advanced mesh type.

  1. Access the point creation command.

  2. In the point properties window, input the desired size (in meters) of meshes around the point (e.g., 0.2).

  3. Create a point on the desired structure element.

Once the structure modeling is done, create the analysis model and launch the mesh. The structure element is meshed according to the parameters set by the point object.

How to use lines to define the mesh on structure elements

Lines can be used to refine the meshing on structure elements for the advanced mesh type.

  1. Access the line creation command.

  2. In the line properties window:

  1. Create the line on the desired structure element.

Once the structure modeling is done, create the analysis model and launch the mesh. The structure element is meshed according to the parameters set by the line object.
