Polygonal viewports provide the user efficiency and optimization of the layout space coverage. They can be used for bordering any element type regardless of its shape. Due to this fact, the viewports can be interspersed like puzzle pieces, reducing space consumption.
Create a layout in the "Document" module, adjust the layout dimensions and add the title block from the layout properties. Next, add a frame containing the plot elements. Creating polygonal viewports involves frame selection, choosing the "View port Clip" option from the context menu using right click and then cutting the desired elements in a polygon.
Framing elements can be made by creating a polygonal contour similar to the polyline creation. After closing the polygonal contour, in the cutting space, only the elements contained in this space remain visible. The polygonal viewport contour can be created both of segments and arcs by choosing the desired option from the command line (Specify next point or [Arc/Length/Undo]:).
Another method to create polygonal viewports is by using a closed contour already created (rectangle, circular, polygonal, etc.). This is selected after applying the Viewport Clip option.
The detail scale can be set from the viewports properties.
