In case of a continuous footing, for Supported Element you can define settings for Reinforcement Cage and Starter Bars, depending on which reinforcement type you decide to use.

Reinforcement Cage dialog box for Continuous Footing
Transversal Reinforcement
Total height: define the total height of the reinforcement cage.
Minimum spacing: define the minimum spacing of the overall enclosing link.
Rebar type: define the diameter of the overall enclosing link.
Links hooks angle: select the hook angle from the drop-down: closed links with 135° or 90° hooks.
Reinforcement bars for each link: enter a value of spacings to alternate links along the main reinforcement of the footing pad.
Steel binders type: define the additional restraining link type (None, Stirrups, or Pins):

Types of Internal links in reinforcement cage
Longitudinal Reinforcement
Quantity along Z/X: define the number of reinforcement layers along with the total height/width of the reinforcement cage.
Rebar type: define the diameter of the longitudinal reinforcement.

Starter Bars dialog box for Continuous Footing
Transversal Reinforcement
Reinforcement type: select the starter bars type from the drop-down list:
U-shaped

Minimum spacing: define the minimum spacing between starter bars.
Rebar type: define the diameter of the starter bar.
Reinforcement bars for starter bar: enter a value to alternate the starter bars along the main reinforcement of the footing pad.
Diameter based anchorage length: check this box to specify the anchorage length of the starter bars, as a multiple of the bar nominal diameter; in the field which becomes active when the option is checked, enter the coefficient by which the reinforcing bar diameter should be multiplied.
Provide safety hooks for less than: check this option to provide safety hooks closed at 180° and safety caps for the column starter bars; select the bar diameter from the drop-down list.
Steel binders type: define the additional restraining link type:
None

Steel binders rebar type: define the diameter of the binder (for pins or stirrups).
Bars Length
Lap length: define the minimum height of starter bars out of the pad footing; this value ensures that the forces are properly transmitted to the foundation.
Seismic effect length reduction: define the reduction factor for the anchorage length, when seismic effects are considered in design.
Non - Seismic effect length reduction: define the reduction factor for the anchorage length, when seismic effects are not considered in design.
Longitudinal Reinforcement
Quantity along Z: define the number of layers along the starter bar height.
Rebar type: define the diameter of the longitudinal reinforcement.
