Commands in this Geometry group are used for defining the Cast-in-Place beam's geometric features.

1. Main Geometry: this dialog box can be used for defining main geometrical characteristics such as the span length, section, or supports width.
Span
Name: name of the active beam span to display in drawings and in calculation reports
Upper fiber offset: distance of upper fiber to reference fiber
Length: define the clear span of the beam, from face of left support to face of right support

Section
Type: select from the drop-down listing available options (Cast-in-Place, Precast Beam, Asymmetric Precast, Rebate, Cantilever, Precast Slabs, Precast Beam and Slabs)
Width: define the width of the beam
Height: define the total height of the beam

Left Support
Name: name of the left support to display in drawings and in calculation reports
Type: select from Column and Wall
Width: define the thickness of the left support
Right Support
Name: name of the left support to display in drawings and in calculation reports
Type: select from Column and Wall
Width: define the thickness of the right support
Seismic Geometrical Constraints
Column dimension: define the largest cross-sectional dimension of the column normal to the longitudinal axis of the beam, according to 5.4.1.2.1 from EN 1998-1
2. Section: this tab can be used to define the cross-section of the span.

Section Dimensions
Width: beam width
Height: beam total height
Note: The section dimensions are read-only in this dialog, and they are displayed only with informative purposes to be used when defining the dimensions of the flanges. The section dimensions (width and total height) can be modified in the Main Geometry dialog.
Flanges
Position: selecting one of the options in the drop-down (Top, Bottom, Center) list influences the left/right flange depth value
b: width of left/right flange; the value has a superior limit calculated in accordance with 5.3.2.1(3) from EN1992-1-1
t: thickness of left/right flange
dz: offset of the left/right flange measured from the section top edge
b1: half of the transverse distance between the two ribs of a solid slab in accordance with Fig.5.3 from EN1992-1-1

x1: distance from left support face to the start of the compression flange
x2: distance from right support face to the start of the compression flange

Size b: preliminary sizing of the left compression flange in accordance with 5.3.2.1(3) from EN1992-1-1
Copy: copy characteristics from one compression flange to the other
Reset: reset all flange data
3. Openings: this tab can be used to add and customize openings in the span (position, geometry, and dimensions)

Opening Geometry
Span height: the height of beam span
Note: The span height is read-only in this dialog, and it is displayed for informational purposes to be used when defining the opening dimensions. The section dimensions (width and total height) can be modified in Main Geometry dialog.
Opening shape: select the shape of the added opening: Rectangular or Circular
Abcissa: horizontal distance from the face of the left support to the opening
Ordinate: vertical distance from the bottom of the span to the opening
Length: opening length
Height: opening height

Opening Reinforcement
Reinforcement offset: the value of the offset for reinforcement around openings
Number of stirrups: the minimum number of provided stirrups in top and bottom lintel
Group: openings with the same group number will be considered as forming a single opening envelope
Opening reinforcement: select from Calculated (design), Not calculated, cut rebars (no design, reinforcement bars cut off) and Not calculated, rebars not cut (no design, reinforcement bars not cut off)

4. Depressions: the tab is used for defining depressions on the current span.

Clicking on the desired type of depression activates the corresponding fields, where the depression's length, height, and abscissa can be inputted.
5. Opened Links: this tab gives the possibility to define opened links in the span.

Depending on the parameter settings, transversal bars can be either defined with the maintaining of their heights or with extended arms above the top edge of the beam. For the second case, it is also possible to extend pins or stirrups. It is also possible to provide horizontal pins closings at top opened stirrups.
General Settings
Open links: provide opened links for the current span
Anchorage: select the bar diameter of the lifting hook
Provide pins along Y: provide pins along Y in case of opened links to assure the beam top bars linking
Extension Settings
Extend opened links: extend opened links above the beam top edge. Applies for both perimetral links and multiple enclosed links (if defined)
Extend pins or stirrups: extend internal pins or stirrups above the beam top edge
Extension length: define the extension length value measured from the beam top face. Applies for both opened links and internal pins or stirrups (if they are defined as extended)
