A thermal load case groups loads of thermal origin, which are automatically calculated by Advance Design.
The properties of the thermal load case are viewed and defined in the properties window. The properties of a load case apply to all of its loads.

Thermal load case properties
Title: displays the title of the load case.
Name: view / modify the default name of the load case.
No.: view the ID number of the load case.
Code: view / input the code corresponding to the combination (when the case is included in a combination).
T final: indicates the final temperature applied to elements from the selection described in the "Automatic generation" section. The calculation uses a deviation between the user defined temperature (T final) and the reference temperature.
y gradient: indicates the thermal gradient applied along the local y axis of linear elements.
z gradient: indicates the thermal gradient applied along the local z axis of linear or planar elements.
Selection: from the drop-down list select All to consider all the structure elements for the automatic generation of thermal loads. To generate the thermal loads only on certain elements, select List; the List field below is active.
List: input the IDs of systems containing the elements on which to generate the thermal loads.
Define properties that are taken into account when generating concomitance combinations. See Configuring load cases combinations.
Effect: the load case can be set as "Base", "Support" or both.
Coefficient γ EQU: partial factor for wind action considered in the EQU ultimate limit state.
Coefficient γ STR/GEO: partial factor for wind action considered in the STR/GEO ultimate limit state.
Ψ0: factor that defines the combination value of a variable action.
Ψ1: factor that defines the frequent value of a variable action.
Ψ2: factor that defines the quasi-permanent value of a variable action.
Duration: load duration of variable action.
View / change the representative color for the load case.
Tip
Click a section of the properties window. Notice the bottom area of the window; it displays a short description of the active cell's content.
In the Project Browser, expand the Temperatures case family group and select the load case (TEMP).
