Simple Linear Elements
In Advance Design you can create simple linear elements between any two points in the graphic area. The position of the element's extremities can be precisely specified by entering their coordinates in the command line or snapping to other objects.
How to access the command
Below you can find the various methods to access the command:

From the Menu: Select Generate > Structure > Linear > Simple linear element.

From the Modeling toolbar: click the relevant icon

From the Ribbon: Navigate to the Home tab, locate the Linear & Planar panel, and select Linear Element from the Linear section dropdown list.

From the Project Browser: Right-click a system and select Generate an entity > Structure > Linear > Simple linear element.

From the Drawing area: Right-click and select Generate an entity > Structure > Linear.

How to create simple linear elements
To create simple linear elements, follow these steps:
- In the Project Browser, select a system where you want to place the element. If you haven't created the system tree, you can do so after drawing the model elements.
- On the Modeling toolbar: click on the relevant icon .
- Configure the element attributes in the properties window.
- Create the linear element point by point:
- Option 1: Define each extremity of the element by simply clicking on the graphic area. For easier modeling, use the workplane, the snap modes and the measurement tools.
- Option 2: Alternatively, input the precise element coordinate on the command line, pressing <Enter> after each input to validate. Once you have completed these steps, the linear element will be successfully created.

You can configure the element properties before element creation, while the drawing tool is active or after the input, by selecting the element and accessing the properties window. After drawing the element, you can press <Esc> or simply right-click and choose Finish from the context menu to exit the drawing function.
