The Home tab of the Advance Design Ribbon is your central toolkit for modeling. Designed for practicality, it consolidates all the essential commands you need for creating and adjusting models. From defining geometries to applying loads, and executing basic CAD operations, this tab is organized to help you work smarter and faster, keeping essential tools easily accessible and simplifying your modeling process.

Home tab - Advance Design Ribbon
The Home tab is thoughtfully divided into logical panels, each dedicated to a specific aspect of the modeling process:

Project Settings panel

Opens the Options - Application dialog box to define various application settings such as the default working directory, save options, memory allocation, results configuration, the connections export options, the Project Browser content and display, and more. |

Opens the Display Settings dialog box to configure display styles. |
|
|
Opens the Settings - Structure dialog box to define the general configuration of the structure. |
|
|
Opens the Project Settings dialog box, allowing the definition of certain parameters which describe the Advance Design project and which are used in the report that is generated for the current project. |
|
|
Opens the Localization configuration dialog box (when the model is open, the dialog is displayed only in view mode). This dialog box allows users to configure localization settings and specify the interface language, as well as the standards for reinforced concrete, steelwork, timber, and masonry that will be applied to the project. |

Lines panel

CAD Functions panel
The CAD Functions contains the following commands:

Copy allows access to the Copy dialog box to define copy settings and parameters. |
|
|
Move is used to define the parameters when moving objects. |
|
|
Subdivide: Subdivides linear or planar elements using reference objects (i.e., other linear elements, lines, etc.). |
|
|
Cut: Cuts parts of structure elements (i.e., linear, planar) using reference objects (i.e., lines, points, linear or planar elements). |
|
|
Trim or extend: Trims or extends linear and planar elements relative to a selected reference object. |
|
|
Create a fillet: Creates fillets: between two linear elements sharing an extremity or on a planar element's extremities |
|
|
Symmetries: Mirrors a selected element or group of elements according to a specified symmetry plane or axis. |
|
|
Extrusion of an element: Creates linear and planar elements starting from points and lines. |
|
|
Plane symmetry (mirror): Allows you to copy an element by defining a reference plane. |
|
|
Axial symmetry: Allows you to copy an element by defining a reference axis. |
|
|
Rotation (Input angle): Provides various options to define the rotation of an element or a group of elements according to the specified settings. |

Selection panel

|
Select by criteria: Opens the Elements Selection dialog box, allowing an advanced selection of elements by combining the selection criteria and applying them on the whole model or on a previous selection set only. |
|
|
Invert selection: Inverts the selection status of elements. By using this command, the unselected elements become selected and vice-versa. |
|
|
Previous selection: This command allows you to quickly revert to your last selection. When activated, it replaces your current selection (or state without selection) with the one you had previously selected. |

Selection mode: Clicking on this option brings up a drop-down menu offering various selection criteria. You can filter your selection based on specific attributes like material type, cross-section dimensions, thickness, and more. |

Isolate / Display panel

Filter: Displays only the selected elements. |

The Render Modes panel contains the following commands:

Snap panel
This panel allows you to enable/disable and access the desired snap modes.

Enable / disable the snap modes. |

Snap to endpoint. |
|
|
Snap to the mid point of a segment. |
|
|
Snap to the intersection of two objects. |
|
|
Snap to center. |
|
|
Snap to the nearest entity. |

Snap perpendicularly to an object. |

Snap to the intersection point of the virtually extended elements. |

Snap tracking each point between the extremities. |

The Verify panel, located on the Home Ribbon tab in Advance Design, provides commands for performing model verification and checking the consistency and accuracy of the descriptive model.

Slider panel on the Results Ribbon
The Text Size slider: Allows users to conveniently adjust the size of descriptions in the software. It provides a quick and intuitive way to control the visibility and readability of textual information.
