Matching Elements Properties

 

During the modeling step, it is possible to copy the properties of an element (point, linear element, planar element, support, loading area or load) and apply them to other elements of the same type. The properties that can be "transferred" from an element to others are: type of material, type of cross section, eccentricity, orientation, releases, etc. If the source element has a haunch, the haunch is also applied to the target elements.

How to access the command

• Menu: Edit > Match properties

• Modeling toolbar / Analysis - Settings toolbar:

• Ribbon > Utilities tab > CAD panel > click

How to copy properties from one element to another

• Access the command.

• In the drawing area, click the source object (the object with the properties to be copied).

• Select the target objects (the object to apply the properties on).

The properties of the source element are applied on the target objects.

• After applying the properties on all necessary objects, press <Esc> to disable the command.

 The command line displays explicit messages indicating the stage of the process.
