In Advance Design, the Loads / selection command is used for the automatic generation of loads on structure elements. The generated loads correspond to the selected element type (punctual loads for points, linear loads for linear elements and planar loads for planar elements and loading areas).
In the Project Browser, select a load case.
Note
The generated loads will belong to the selected load case. However, if there are no load case families in the model, the Create load case families dialog box appears before the loads generation, allowing the definition of the load case family.
Ribbon > Objects tab > select Loads on Selection.
Select the structure element(s) on which to apply the load.
Warning
When selecting several elements, make sure they are of the same type (linear, planar, etc.).
Right-click anywhere in the graphic area and select Loads / selection from the context menu.
The properties of the load corresponding to the element shape are automatically displayed (i.e., linear loads, planar loads or punctual loads).
Define the load parameters in the properties window.
Tip
Loads on selection can be automatically named according to the element on which they are applied. See How to automatically name the loads created on a selection.
Click OK.
The load is created under the selected load case. You can view the created loads in the Project Browser under their load case and case families.
