Copying Elements Graphically About an Axis

 

Elements can be copied using the graphical symmetry tool, by defining a reference axis. An immediate preview of the copy is displayed.

 

How to access the command

• Menu: select Modify > CAD > Symmetrize > Axial Symmetry.

• CAD Modifications toolbar: click .

• Ribbon >  Home tab >  CAD Functions panel > click .

• Ribbon > Utilities tab > CAD panel > Plane symmetry dropdown list > Axial Symmetry.

How to copy elements by axial symmetry

1. Select an element or a group of elements to copy.

2. Access the command.

3. Place the cursor above the element defined as the symmetry reference.

4. Select a symmetry mode by pressing the <Tab> key while the cursor is placed above the reference object.

5. Click when the desired symmetry is obtained.

 The copy is created.
