Steel Design Settings

The steel design settings are applied in the analysis step, during the steel calculation. The design settings can be modified in the modeling step and in the analysis step as well. After defining the settings during the analysis step, it is necessary to calculate the model again. The design settings may be defined at two levels:

How to define the general steel design settings

  1. Access the command: Main menu: select Settings > Steel Design > Design Settings / Ribbon > Analysis tab > Steel Design panel > Settings.

  2. Define the calculation settings by accessing the corresponding tabs of the Calculation Settings dialog box.

  3. Click OK.

The calculation settings are defined for all the steel elements of the model.

How to define the local steel design settings

  1. Select a steel linear element or a group of steel linear elements to define the steel design settings.

  2. Access the element(s) properties window. The displayed properties are filtered using the drop-down list located on the top-right of the window. Select the Steel properties criterion to display only the available steel design properties for the currently chosen standard.

The available design properties of the element depend on the material type.
