Project Browser Content

The Advance Design Project Browser dynamically adapts its content to align with each working step of your project, ensuring an efficient workflow. It's structured to simplify navigation and improve your productivity.

In the following sections, you'll discover a detailed overview of the Project Browser's content designed for each specific working mode, guiding you through the four key project steps.

The 4 key project steps

The Advance Design project has four working steps:

Model mode

This mode offers a tree structure of the descriptive model components.

The Project Browser displays:

Model mode content:

  1. Model: contains all the descriptive model elements, organized in systems, further organized in subsystems. They are grouped in three categories: Structure, Loading and Analysis Settings. Each of these groups contains specific elements and have specific context menus:

Note: A color code indicates the different states of the systems:

NoteThe loads that are grayed are not displayed in the working area (double-click the load case to show/hide it). We can distinguish the different load cases depending on their creation type (through the concept of family), which allows a simplified determination of the combinations of actions.

2. Analysis settings: provides access and configuration options for structure and analysis settings, and tools for defining different analysis types (modal, static, dynamic...).

Analysis mode

This mode offers a tree structure of the analysis model components.

The Project Browser displays analysis model components:

Analysis mode content

  1. Structure: contains all structure elements of the model. In this step, it is not possible to create/delete structure elements. However, the element attributes can be modified in the properties window.

  2. Analyses: contains the list of possible analyses; the analyses described for the current model are listed under the corresponding category:

NoteDuring the analysis step, it is not possible to add/delete analyses. You can only define the analyses to calculate using the context menu in the Project Browser.

  1. Post-processing: stores the post-processing views saved during the post-processing phase.

NoteThe post-processing views have a color code which informs you about the post-processing's status:

  1. Saved views: saves the analysis views stored during the analyses-assumptions step (before calculation).

Design mode

This mode is only available after the analysis is completed.

The Design tab displays a list of all the elements that can be designed. Double-clicking an active element (reinforced concrete, steel, timber) opens the element in Design mode, where it can be calculated.

Document mode

The Project Browser displays a list that contains all the image files and calculation reports created during the modeling and post-processing, allowing quick access to these files.

Document mode content:

  1. Image files: model views, analysis views, post-processing views, result curves, interaction curves;

  1. Documents: calculation reports;

  1. Animation files: model animations, post-processing animations.

It is possible to customize the list display and sort files by name, type, size or date.

Browsing the Project Browser Content

Using the Project Browser it is possible to switch between the four working modes: Model, Analysis, Design and Document. To switch between the four working modes, just click the corresponding icon located at the top of the Project Browser.
