Assigning materials to imported objects

 

When importing a model in Advance Design, it is possible that the program does not recognize the objects assigned material. Advance Design offers the possibility to assign a defined material to the imported data.

How to assign a defined material

  1. In the Assign a material dialog box, select Assign an existing material. The material dialog box will automatically appear after opening the imported project in Advance Design.

Two boxes available in this section enable the user to choose one, both or none of the existing options:

 

  1. Select the Standard, family and material in the Library section.

The standard will be automatically assigned to previously selected Localization.

  1. Click Assign to assign the chosen material for the specified element.

 

How to create a New Material from the imported data

  1. On the Assign a material dialog box, select Create a New Material from the Existing Data.

To automatically create material for all unknown materials of the model, enable the For all unknown materials option.

The materials are created based on the imported information.

  1. Click Assign.
