GRAITEC and Autodesk Revit Structure

Advance and Arche are compatible with Autodesk Revit Structure

Using the Revit suite (Autodesk Revit Building / Autodesk Revit Structure) with GRAITEC solutions, you will achieve a continuous CAD / Design process, from architectural design to the final construction drawings.

GRAITEC provides full bidirectional integration between Autodesk Revit Structure and all Graitec products. This integration significantly accelerates the structural design and drawing creation and reduces the risk of potential errors when changes occur.

Structural Analysis & Design
Import the 3D model from Autodesk Revit Structure in Advance Design or Visual Design, run a structural analysis and design process to optimize your structure, and synchronize back the changes in your Revit Structure model.

Steel Detailing
Import the 3D model from Autodesk Revit Structure in Advance Steel, add joints, and create your general arrangement drawings, workshop drawings and NC files!

Concrete Detailing
Import the 3D model from Autodesk Revit Structure in Advance Concrete and use its advanced rebar features for automating the creation of all your reinforcement drawings.

Works with: Advance Design 3.1, Visual Design 6.0, Advance Steel 8.1, Advance Concrete 8.1, Arche 16.1 and Effel 16.1

How does it work?

Discover how GRAITEC solutions are compatible with Autodesk Revit Structure.
  1. Install Graitec software and Autodesk Revit Structure
  2. Download the Graitec plug-in and follow the installation steps.
  3. In Autodesk Revit Structure 2008, 4 new menu options are available:
    1. External Tools / GRAITEC Export
    2. External Tools / GRAITEC Synchronize
    3. External Tools / GRAITEC Import
    4. External Tools / GTC settings…

Graitec Transfer Center - CAD and Analysis software interoperability

The integration is based on the exclusive GRAITEC technology “GTC” (GRAITEC Transfer Center). With this technology, all the models created with Graitec software can be synchronized, with no data loss and no need to re-input data. For more information, see GTC info page.

Technical information - Advance Steel

  1. Advance Steel imports columns as beams.
  2. The following limitations exist with exports to SDNF:
    1. Problems with rotation/offset for families that do not define parameters named b and h, meaning width and height, respectively. Defining the b and h parameters solves this problem.
    2. Problems with rotation and offset combinations for beams and columns: Revit API properties do not reflect entirely the beam/column status. For example, in Revit, a beam has a different position/orientation for the same parameters depending in which order the parameters where set.

Technical information - Advance Design

  1. Isolated / continuous footings are imported as punctual / linear supports
  2. Nodes are exported from Analysis Model (FE results available) if user option activated
