Advance Steel 2010
On September 15th 2009, GRAITEC launched Advance Steel 2010, a 3D structural modeling platform for automating steel detailing and fabrication.
Perfectly integrated into AutoCAD®, Advance Steel is an intuitive 3D modeling system (single or multi-user mode). It includes automatic joints and macros for stairs and railings, automatic drawing creation (GA to workshop standard), automatic material lists and output to all major industry formats (DWG, IFC, CIS/2, SDNF, PSS, etc.).

What's new in Advance Steel 2010
In addition to being compatible with AutoCAD® 2010, Advance Steel 2010 dramatically increases general detailing and fabrication productivity in the shortest time. It also has user experience enhancements, such as the intuitive User Interface. Some of the new features of Advance Steel 2010 are described below:
Improved user interface
- Use the Advance Steel ribbon for increased productivity
- Navigate through the element properties faster. The properties are better grouped in the left of the dialog boxes for easier access.
Performance improvements
- Workshop drawings containing a BOM are created faster.
- Models with more than double the size can be handled faster compared to the previous version.
- Displaying in shade mode is the same speed as displaying in wireframe mode.
- Much faster creation of General arrangement drawings.
- General arrangement drawings can be created from much bigger models using the "slice by slice" creation.

Automatic unfolding of curved beams and polybeams on workshop drawings
- A curved beam or a polybeam can be displayed unfolded on drawings.
- The elongation calculation can be configured with a default.

- Easier to configure, very user-friendly to define
- BOM template in DWG file format
- AutoCAD®-based configuration

Installation
To successfully install Advance Steel certain requirements must be met:
- PC with Pentium Processor min. 2 GHz (4 GHz recommended)
- Main memory min. 2 GB
- AutoCAD® compatible graphics card (for more information, see http://www.autodesk.com/autocad-graphicscard)
- Network adapter
- DVD Drive
- Windows compatible printer or plotter
- Required disk space: approx. 900 MB
