Advance Design 2010
On September 15th 2009, GRAITEC launched Advance Design 2010, a finite elements analysis software for reinforced concrete and steel structures.
Advance Design was specifically developed for structural analysis using a powerful FEM analysis engine. It includes various tools for the design of reinforced concrete and steel structures, integrating the latest European design standards (Eurocodes 0, 1, 2, 3 and 8).

What's new in Advance Design 2010
Advance Design 2010 provides some important features, including: 64-bit, Eurocodes compatibility and Semi-rigid links. The 2010 release goes further towards the implementation of Eurocodes and provides new modeling and post-processing tools to improve the efficiency on larger projects.
Some of the new features of Advance Design 2010 are described below:
The latest Eurocodes developments
- A load combinations manager (EC0)
- A 3D climatic generator (EC 1) that takes into account the wind effects on lattice structures (§ 7.11), on awnings (§ 7.2.1) and on outdoor panels (§ 7.4.3), and that also takes into consideration snow accumulation
- Seismic analysis (EC8)
- Many other improvements for Concrete (EC2) and Steel (EC3)
British Standard BS8110
- Tension and compression design.
- Required reinforcement for beams.
- Specific methods for column design (short columns).
- Automatic buckling length calculation.
New start-up wizard
The start-up wizard helps users create or open a project: languages, codes to apply, national appendix and overview of existing and most recent projects.
New modeling tools
- Automatic update of the "end releases" when creating connections between two elements.
- Selection of elements per system.
- Units management in the property list.
- "Purge" function for deleting empty systems from the Pilot
Time history analysis
When running a time history analysis, the user can define a list of points where the solver will calculate and save the time history results.
New post-processing tools
- Eigenvectors on a selection of nodes.
- Optimized scale for deformed shape visualization.
- Results on planar elements can be displayed through diagrams in the local axes: "Diagrams along x" or "Diagrams along y".
Optimization of ArcelorMittal castellated beams
With the partnership with ArcelorMITTAL, GRAITEC also ensures the optimization of castellated beams according to EC3.
Advance Design 2010 is also compatible with the British standard BS8110 for Concrete design.
Latest FlexLM technology (Acresso)
- Instant activation of user licenses.
- Borrow a license from a network license server.
- Easily move the license from one computer to another.
- Windows compatibility: Windows Vista, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Pro
and Windows 7
- Available in English, French and Romanian
- Standards interfaces: IFC, CIS/2, PSS, SDNF, DXF. More details about the standards available in Advance Design
- Advance Design is delivered on DVD
