Software Developer

Candidate profile

Essential

Good knowledge of C++, MFC
Good knowledge in 3D geometry
Fluent in English

Asset

Experience in / knowledge of ObjectARX, ActiveX, COM, ATL, OLE, SQL, ADO, DAO, ODBC.
Willing to learn and work in a competitive environment.

Job desciption

The main target will be to develop applications in Advance Steel, which is itself an AutoCAD plug-in. This could be extended as well to other software of the group.

Read and understand specification written by Discipline specialists
Software Development in C++, using the COM API provided by GRAITEC. This will include mathematic algorithms, user interface, etc.
Work in a team with European developers (more than 70 developers located in Bucharest / Romania): exchange knowledge, follow COM API improvements, report defects and requests, etc.
Comply with GRAITEC software development rules.
Test the quality of the developed software and make sure it complies with functional specifications.
Write technical documentation about the developed software.

Job desciption

Being a steel detailing specialist, your role will be to work with software development teams and Product Management as a consultant, being able to provide all required input and to validate the result.

Analyze steel detailing processes and write technical specification for the software developers (technical specification means:software input description / how the user expects the software to react / software result description)
Answer daily questions about steel detailing coming from thesoftware developers
Validate new software releases and report defects to development team
Configure the software according to customer requests (default values, drawing presentation settings)
Contribute to write user's documentation (FAQ, tips)
Answer technical questions asked by Graitec employees (sales, presales)
Help providing technical information (customer examples, product videos )

Steel Detailer in GRAITEC Fort-Worth Texas office

GRAITEC Inc., a major worldwide developer of structural steel modeling software for detailing and fabrication, is currently recruiting a Steel Detailer for its Fort-Worth office. Working in conjunction with a senior consultant/accounts representative, this full time job consists of demonstrating, training and supporting Advance Steel, GRAITEC's AutoCAD® embedded structural steel software.

Candidate profile

At least 2 years steel detailing experience in the US.
In depth knowledge of AutoCAD® (v2002 and up).
Knowledge of high end 3D steel detailing software a plus.
Good technical communication skills (spoken and written).
Availability for frequent travel across the US and possibly Canada.

GRAITEC Inc. based in Laval (Quebec, Canada) is currently seeking 2 steel detailers. Working under the North American technical services manager and in conjunction with an accounts representative, this full time position consist of demonstrating, training, supporting and specifying changes to our AutoCAD® embedded structural steel software

Candidate profile

Technical degree with at least 1 year structural steel detailing experience in Canada or US.
In depth knowledge of AutoCAD® (v2002 and up).
In depth knowledge of steel detailing.
Good English (spoken and written) a must.
Spoken French a plus.
Good technical communication skills (spoken and written).
Availability for frequent travel across Canada and US.
Autonomous and self-motivated (Autodidact).
Sales minded, confident in delivering public presentations.
