Question:How is the bill of material obtained in Advance Concrete?
Advance Concrete provides the option to obtain the bill of materials (concrete m3 and formwork m2) in the Modeling part of the structure.
The bill of materials can be obtained for the entire building or for selected elements (the selection can be made by element type, beams, walls, slab, or elements position from one or more levels). For easier selection of elements, use the Multi Criteria option.
To obtain the bill of materials for the entire building, display the entire building and use the "Generate Bill of material" option from the Advance Model toolbar. Next select the entire building.
From the "Structure List" window set the template (.doc) and its location. From the "General content" category choose if the notes, conventions and details of elements appear in the document description. From the "Content by material" category choose if the document contains a table with the selected elements. (This table is structured by levels.)
Fill in the updated price for cubic meter of concrete and square meter of formwork, according to each element and material.
A document is automatically opened when the "Structure List" window is validated.
The document contains the tables with the described bill of materials. They are arranged by element types and levels. The entire values of the concrete and formwork quantities are contained in "Sums and Ratios" table.
The price is calculated according to the values inserted in the "prices and currencies" window.
The header modification of the Word document can be done by editing and saving the template used in the properties page of the bill of materials list.
The units for dimensions (height, width and length) can be changed from the "Project Settings" toolbar, from the "Units" option.
Advance Concrete calculates an estimated concrete and formwork quantity. This does not take into account the joints between elements; the modeling of the elements has to be done at the front of the elements and not from their axis. This way the exact quantity of material can be obtained.
