Project location: La Wantzenau (Bas Rhin), France
Software used: Autodesk Advance Steel

Steel construction company: Ets J-C FASSLER – 68 Ste Marie aux Mines
Architect: Joel Bruckmann (Molsheim)

Olivier Rasquier, Ets J-C FASSLER designer and Autodesk Advance Steel software user, testifies: « Advance Steel has greatly helped with the precise drawing of this structure; the large number of predefined joints in Advance Steel's library allowed for an easier and faster 3D modelling. Therefore, it was easy for us to complete this project. In addition, because we needed to quickly stock the deck area with metallic connectors for the moulding of the composite deck, the specific materials lists made it easy to divide this project into different phases. In what the execution phase is concerned, by using the DStV files automatically generated with Advance Steel for the cutting of the end plates we limited the usual errors associated with this phase, as we no longer had to draw the parts. Knowing the weight of the assemblies is very useful for on-site assembly, seeing that we had to order a crane to assemble the deck beams (the access to the construction site was difficult). The possibility to export various plans allowed for an efficient communication between the different teams involved in this project. Advance Steel allows users to model objects with ease and to make them feasible. »
