Project Description:

On Rügen Island a house was built upside down. It is used as an indoor playground for children. All things in the house and near the house are upside down: The bicycle in front of the door is fixed to the bottom of the house and its saddle points downwards. Pictures are fixed to the walls upside down. The ceiling is the floor and the floor is the ceiling. The couch, the chairs, the bed and the bathroom furniture are fixed to the floor. The construction consists of a 35 tons steel structure. The house is 12 m long, 8.90 m wide and 8.50 m high. The chimney is substituted by two massive steel columns, which are fixed in a single foundation (5 m wide, 6 m long, 1.40 m deep) so that the house is connected to the ground and cannot flip.
