The role of DStV is to promote the use of steel in construction and to inform on technical innovations and technological developments. It also plays an important part in national and European standardizations.

    DSC is member of DStV and has been particularly active in DStV IT-Committee, which is specialized in defining interfaces between CAD and design software for the steel construction industry (such as the DStV-interface). DSC participated in the development of interfaces based on DStV standardized formats.

International Alliance for Interoperability

GRAITEC is an active member of MEDIACONSTRUCT, the French chapter of IAI, which is in charge of development of the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) in France.

   GRAITEC is Technical Leader of the IFC Bridge Project, which consists in the development of the international IFC-based data format and associated software tools for the exchange of technical data in the field of bridge design data.

   GRAITEC and MEDIACONSTRUCT are working on 2 projects dealing with the collective use of internet by small and medium businesses. These projects are supported by the French Ministry of Industry and Equipment.
