GRAITEC Group News
GRAITEC strengthens its German position by acquiring CSI (Computer Service im Ingenieurbau GmbH), a key German Civil engineering software provider.
Paris, France, March 28th, 2008 - GRAITEC, a major software developer for CAD and structural analysis solutions for civil engineering, has acquired CSI a leading structural design solution provider in Germany on March 6th, 2008. GRAITEC intends to integrate CSI's innovative structural analysis solution into its own high-end detailing tools, which are already successfully sold in Europe by its subsidiaries. Through this acquisition, GRAITEC will soon be able to offer its customers and prospects a complete and fully localized software suite for the German Construction industry.
Established in 1980, CSI specializes in the development of static analysis software for Civil Engineering and Construction, mainly for the German speaking markets in the areas of Steel, Concrete and Timber with their CS-STATIK and CS-PONS applications. They also provide a complete range of services (Education, Hotline, software updates). The most important suites of products of CSI are:
Available in Germany and through resellers in Austria and Switzerland, CSI employs 15 people.
CS-STATIK is the company's most advanced solution dedicated to static analysis and design for the construction and civil engineering industry in D-A-CH. This comprehensive suite integrates into a common interface tools for planning structural framework according to current standards including Eurocode - starting from a single-span girder to complete 3D-framework.
CS-PONS is a planning tool for concrete girder and frame bridges, pre-stressed concrete, pre-fabricated or composite steel/concrete bridges. This 3D-system can be used to create street overpasses, pedestrian bridges and railway bridges. CS-PONS includes the German calculation codes as well as the Eurocode.
GRAITEC has a clear strategy to provide its German clients with a complete software suite, from structural analysis/design to steel/concrete detailing. In the last years, GRAITEC has successfully sold Advance Steel, its high-end steel detailing solution, in Germany through its wholly owned subsidiary Graitec GmbH. Advance Concrete, GRAITEC's concrete detailing solution was introduced on the German market in 2006 and is rapidly gaining market share.
Graitec GmbH and CSI GmbH will offer the complete range of software and services to customer of both companies.
Francis Guillemard, CEO and founder of GRAITEC, comments: "Thanks to the contribution of CSI, GRAITEC will be able to propose a unique Structural Design Chain on the German market which will allow Engineering and Design Offices to create their structures and produce technical plans from the same model. This BIM approach (Building Information Modeling) provides innovative technology on an industry recognized standard platform. In addition, CSI technology provides a lot of growth opportunities for the entire Graitec Group."
Michael Ommert, Managing Director of CSI adds: "Entering the GRAITEC Group gives us access to major R&D resources. The national and international synergies between CSI and GRAITEC will allow us soon to offer our clients a modular end-to-end solution, from structural analysis to detailing for steel and concrete buildings, promising more technology and better services to all our customers. Localised CSI-Software, based on the European calculation codes, will ensure a corporal and stable growth."
