GRAITEC strengthens its North American position by acquiring CIVILDESIGN INC., a key Canadian Civil engineering software provider
Bievres, France, June 20th, 2007 - GRAITEC, a major software developer for CAD and structural analysis solutions for civil engineering has acquired CivilDesign Inc., a leading structural design solution provider in Canada. GRAITEC intends to integrate CivilDesign's innovative structural analysis solution into its own high-end detailing tools, which are already successfully sold in the Americas by its offices located in Montreal and Dallas or soon to be introduced on the North-American market. Through this acquisition, GRAITEC will soon be able to offer its customers and prospects a complete and fully localized software suite for the North-American Construction industry.

GRAITEC has a clear strategy to provide its American clients with a complete software suite, from structural analysis/design to steel/concrete detailing. In the last two years, GRAITEC has been successfully selling Advance Steel, its high-end steel detailing solution, in Canada and in the USA through its wholly owned subsidiary in Montreal. Advance Concrete, GRAITEC's concrete detailing solution will be introduced on the North-American market in the 4th Quarter. All the expertise acquired on the European market to synchronize data between GRAITEC's CAD and analysis/design solutions will be dedicated to the rapid integration of CivilDesign's structural analysis solution into its detailing tools.
To ensure a smooth transition, CivilDesign Inc. and GRAITEC Inc. will remain as separate entities for a certain period. Initially, they will act as business contributors to each other's solutions. This approach will evolve into a tighter partnership over time.
Francis Guillemard, CEO and founder of GRAITEC, comments, "CivilDesign Inc. will be a unique source of expertise in American standards analyses, which is of great interest to our customers in the Americas as well as to major customers in the Middle East, Asia and Europe with international operations.
