Structural Engineer - Timber Expert
You will be the lead engineer for the development of a structural analysis and design software for wood products. You will help a team of developers understand and implement the required engineering calculations inside the software. You will be a link between the client and the developers, helping the group to understand customer requirements, to transfer this knowledge to the GRAITEC software development team, to control software quality and to teach new software releases to the client.
- Your main tasks are:
- Visit the client to collect requirements
- Contribute to software development priorities
- Analyze wood product design and write technical specification for the software developers
- Answer questions about wood design coming from the software developers
- Validate new software releases and report defects to the development team
- Contribute to write user documentation
- Answer technical questions from the client and eventually their clients
Profile:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in structural engineering
- Min 3 years of experience in wood design
- Essential Skills:
- Excellent engineering knowledge on the design of wood products in America
- Good knowledge of at least one structural analysis software
- Capability to write detailed software specifications (explaining how wood design works)
- Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills to distribute knowledge inside the group
- Fluent in English (written & spoken)
- Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in structural engineering
- Engineering knowledge on the design of wood products in Europe
- Experience in software development

Applications Specialist, Steel Detailing
Location: Lowell, Massachusetts
Role/Purpose
GRAITEC Applications Specialists participate in all phases of the sales cycle by working closely with the sales team to demonstrate how GRAITEC solutions help customers address issues and achieve business goals. The GRAITEC Applications Specialists propose solutions based on their strong industry knowledge, in-depth product knowledge, and business acumen. They thoroughly understand the capabilities of the GRAITEC solutions and the business benefits customers can realize by implementing those solutions. A GRAITEC Applications Specialist functions as a trusted advisor to the customer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate product features and benefits in pre-sales situations.
Present GRAITEC products to prospective customers in the form of demonstrations. Demonstrations may be live, or via Web-based tools. Also provides customer consultation, support and product presentations at industry specific trade shows. - Business Assessments of Customers.
Conduct assessments of customer's business processes and matches solutions to meet their needs. - Provide product demonstrations in customer facing events.
Conduct professional product presentations and demonstrations in small and large forums that are GRAITEC-sponsored in order to generate sales and meet revenue objectives. -
Partner with GRAITEC Authorized Resellers.
Provide customer facing presentations in the form of partner seminars and workshops. Work with GRAITEC Authorized Reseller technical staff to ensure they are proficient GRAITEC software tools. Work with them to grow, refine, and enhance their demonstration and presentation skills.
Required Skills and Experience:
A Steel Detailer with:
- At least 3 years of design experience in steel detailing
- Bachelor degree is preferred.
The candidate should possess:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Pre-sales demonstration experience a plus
- Comfortable presenting in front of large audiences
- Ability to travel
Software knowledge and capabilities:
- Expert knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of one or more CAD design programs including, but not limited to: GRAITEC Advance Steel, Revit, Strucad, SDS/2 and Tekla.
