Question:How are elements managed in a Multi-User model?
The commands that manage the elements in the model are used for registering and extracting elements from the model, to update the drawing so the user can keep track of the changes made by other users.
The "Check in an object to a multi-user database" command is used when elements made in the drawing must be added to the database. This way the new elements can be seen or can be changed by other users connected to the database. Select the elements and start the command. The program will display a message that "Check in" is completed.
The "Check out an object to a multi-user database" command is used when elements from the database must be modified. For example if you want to copy elements from one level to another level, these elements must be checked out first. Select the elements and start the command. After the program displays the message of completing the operation, elements can be copied.
The "Update database elements" command is for refreshing elements that were modified in the current drawing. Start the command and the program will ask you to select the elements to update. One or more elements can be selected. Before you use this command make sure that the elements are checked out from the database.
The "Refresh workspace with changes made in database" command is used when the user wants to see the changes made in the database by other users. Start the command and select what levels will be refreshed.
Click "Ok" and the program will display the changes.
The "Highlight checked out objects by user(s)" command shows the current user what elements are used by the other users. Start the command and the program will ask you to select the users. Click "Ok" and, in the drawing, the elements that are in use by the selected users will be displayed.
